I went raving recently where the theme was pirates. After searching relentlesy through ebay I decided to make myself a dress because a.) I never make anything for myself and b.) I have the knowledge and power to do so, so why not!
I designed myself a dress with pirate AND raving in mind. It was quite a simple design and allowed me to use my mums brand new domestic overlocker.
The pattern is drafted from a SL close fitting Jersey block. My only regret is not making the sleeves bigger, but I was using scrap fabric so had to compromise on this.
This porject only took me about 2 and a half days to complete (Pattern drafting from scratch and sewing included) So not to bad. Quite pleased with the result and the fact I had something no one else did. Will not probably wear it again until Haloween though…
4 way stretch black lycra
Red mesh net (stiff)
Tulle sraps for sleeves
I also ironed on a pirate hotfix transfer on the back but there are no pictures at the moment so if I remember I will upload some
