A ball gown for a pirate themed formal function held annually in Portland called Swashbuckler’s Ball. I wanted a Victorian style bustle with a hoop skirt for volume. The hoop skirt I own is actually from the Civil War and inherited from relatives. The skirt pattern came from McCalls Pattern M6097 with some personalization. The “sleeves” came from McCalls M6343 pattern.
