Burda Style For people who sew
Description
My stylist friend asked me to be her model for a pinup contest that’s held at a local car show. I didn’t win, but I had such a fun time sewing my outfit!
I drafted the top, which took a couple tries- it’s not easy making bra cups when you have no idea what you’re doing!
The shorts are a combination of the Ruby shorts pattern and the Kasia skirt- two great patterns, and I’m very happy with the fit of them.
Material Notes
The top is a light cotton lined with teal denim. The shorts are a navy bottomweight, pocket pouch lined with the same teal denim as the top.

WOW! That is an awesome outfit and you look amazing! Obviously the judges must have had the sun in their eyes or something. If you ever do get around to tipping us off about how you intersected/combined the two patterns, I would also be most appreciative. Regardless, thanks for the inspiration!

ADORABLE! :) I’m also curious about the height of the Ruby shorts. Did you add crotch length to them at all? And you did a fantastic job on the bra, seriously. Thanks for sharing!

You look great! I’m interested to know how much of the shorts came from the Ruby pattern and how much from the skirt pattern? Am I right in thinking the regular Ruby shorts are not so high-waisted as you’ve achieved here? Thanks
