Description

I saved this photo some time ago on Pinterest, I really like this dress… And I had this striped chambray, bought for another project. However I changed my mind and made the dress using a Burda magazine pattern for the top, and Butterick/ Vogue patterns for belt and skirt.
About the top, I cut a size 36 but had to adjust the front which was too large. Also, I took in the strap by 1/4 inch and shorten the middle back pieces by 1/2 inch. I’m glad I made a muslin!
Matching stripes wasn’t too difficult, but it still took time. I’m very happy with the result!

Thank you! Luckily I had enough fabric to position stripes/colours as I wanted.

Wow! Great dress! I’m usually scared of horizontal stripes but you’ve got the perfect figure for it :-)

Thank you Elpida, I didn’t really think about the horizontal stripes, I just wanted this type of dress! In fact I had bought this fabric to sew the striped maxi skirt as the one you made but as you mentioned these stripes were not symmetrical so I changed my mind about it.

Thank you Maria, sometimes we so want a dress that we make it happens, lucky us, sewists!
