New York, New Yo...
I know what you’re thinking: why didn’t she iron that top before she took photos of it? But this is just what this fabric wants to do: be all casually wrinkly and disheveled-looking. Anyway, I love this Burdastyle pattern, and I plan on making at least one other version of this. Maybe more. It’s a great top for summer loose and breezy and with very pretty details. I was a little confused on whether the pattern included seam allowances, and it’s clear from how narrow my straps are that it did not and I should have added them when cutting. Oops. Next time. I also found the instructions on the pleating a little confusing and next time will just do it my own way. The amount of unpicking and re-stitching I had to do on this thing … it’s kind of a miracle I didn’t burn it. I ended up just ignoring the pattern instructions and stitching it in the most logical way I could muster.
