I saw this pattern http://www.burdastyle.com/patterns/toddler-swing-tank-size-2t and wanted to make it for my niece. I thought it would be easy enough as my first project. I was mistaken! the armholes are so small and making the binding was so difficult and the fabric I picked frayed a lot. But I certainly learned a lot from how to make my own binding to sewing french seams.
I got 1 yard of fabric since being a novice I knew I would make lots of mistakes, which I did I used pinking shears because the fabric frayed a lot and I hated the way it looked so unfinished since I don’t have a serger, so I had to cut the pattern again and redo.
Take off with pleats, cut-outs, insets, and futuristic prints.
