I’ve been feeling bummed out and just really down lately; I needed something to do. After some encouragement, I spent a day to work on this dress. I hope it fits the requirements. If not, I still like how it turned out. —I can not successfully add zippers to my pieces. Still a noobie!
three different fabrics, plus invisible zipper (that is not quite invisible)

I bought it. Didn’t find any time to go to the thrift store, since it was out of the way.

I’m sorry, but I don’t know if I can post a tutorial for this! I didn’t go off any pattern and just did it all off the top of my head. I re-did the skirt part about three times, I think. I’ll try to explain a process, if that’ll help!

>>> BUST – I think that you can take the Contour Bust pattern and replace the top center piece with a rectangle that is gathered along the sides and bottom, plus in the middle. >>> TOP (in general) – Under the band, add a long strip (hemmed on one side) that is gathered to fit the band, where your waist should be at. >>> BOTTOM – If you know your way around making a bubble skirt, than bottom shouldn’t be too difficult. >>> OTHER NOTES – Keep in mind not to have all the fabric lined up in one hem line. That bulk made me break a needle in my serger… I don’t know how short/long you want it, but mines came out too short in my opinion. If this were to be your prom dress, you wouldn’t want and accidental slip of your lower regions, right?
