Third quilt I have made. Completed in December 2009 for a co-worker who is expecting her first baby in January! I designed the pattern myself and used fabric all bought at the thrift store. I wanted the color scheme to not be too girly or baby-ish, so I chose pink, grey, and white. Sweet, simple, understated. And for a bit of fun, I embroidered a sashiko design over one of the corner blocks in glow-in-the-dark thread! I remember as a kid I loved all things glow-in-the-dark and once her little girl gets older I know she’ll enjoy that fun, little touch :)
All fabric was bought at a thrift store! The two greys were cut from two men's dress shirts. The two whites were cut from two different pillow cases (one polka dot, one striped). The two pinks and the white sashing were cut from bedsheets. The glow-in-the-dark thread I bought from a garage sale in my neighborhood.
