Burda Style For people who sew
Description
Woohoo! This is my first dress made without the use of a pattern. And even though the back looks a little wonky (hence the front-view only photos – hehe) I’m still exceedingly proud. I made it from a thrift store fitted bedsheet and copied an empire waist sleeveless minidress from my wardrobe, but decided to make it a maxidress — as I’ve seen so many this summer and just adore them. I also added a bit of crochet trim (not crocheted myself, I’m afraid!) to the top. I think it looks rather Jane Austen-esque — with a little bit of va-va-voom. ;)
Material Notes
100% cotton fitted bedsheet from the thrift store. Crochet trim.

Beautiful! The empire style fits the LA sunshine superbly (Jane Austen’s skin would have been pink like your dress under the Californian sun!)
