The next installment in my 52 weeks of sewing project – this time a pleated skirt.
Who knew pleated skirts were so easy? It’s made with pink stretch corduroy, bought red tag at Joann Fabrics for $6. I took the last of the bolt – slightly over one yard, and used virtually the entire piece to make the skirt. And for those of you who were also naive to the simplicity of pleated skirts – it’s just a rectangle! Pleated and sewn onto a waistband! I can’t believe I never figured this out before.
I also tried my hand at covering my own buttons for the first time – revelation number two – why didn’t I know that could be so easy, too? I used one of the dritz covered button kits. Warning: covered button phase may be forthcoming.
And while you’re here, a shameless plug for the dress I entered into the Vintage Modern Design Challenge – I’d love if it you’d click here and vote :-)
