i used burda’s spring cigarette pants in a pink cotton/lycra sateen. i love a skinny legged pant and these looked perfect!
the waist is quite high on these pants so i lowered it by 1" in the back, 2" in the front. i lowered the back welt placement (and made real welts, not the faux as instructed), lowered the dart point and adjusted the front pocket pieces to reflect my lowered waistline. in the future i would probably lower everything by another 1/2". also, i swapped out the straight waistband for a curved waistband to avoid gaping in the back.
my size falls between the 40 and the 42, so i sewed up the 42. the fit through the hip is great, but they’re a little big in the waist. i’m more of a pear shape so i should have gone down a size there.
overall these are great pants and i love them!
