I drafted this swing coat pattern to include a heart shaped front and back yolk and heart shaped collar for the challenge to both represent the American Heart association and the American Cancer society. The coat is made out of bright fuchsia coating weight wool and piped with bright orange/red. The facing is trimmed with fuchsia and white striped bias trim as is the dress.
I didn’t pattern the dress, it is a Simplicty pattern that I altered, moving the side zip to the back and changing the collar ruffle. It too is trimmed with fuchsia and white striped bias trim. The dress is made from some FABULOUS bow and rose print rayon/polly blend fabric. This print was too hard to pass up, but wasn’t the most fun to sew. I am excited. Now I have an outfit to wear on the 14th!
Wool, silk, polly/rayon.
