Burda Style For people who sew
Description
This is the second top I’ve made from this pattern. The first was also made in waxed cotton and had sleeves but because the fabric has no stretch I couldn’t raise my arms – therefore I removed the sleeves on this one and did a combination armhole and neckline facing.
The photos were taken pre-wash, hence the fabric appearing stiff.
This is only my third project so I have plenty to learn!

Thanks! People also call it ankara fabric. It’s typically made for the West African market and is traditionally made by imprinting patterns on fabric with melted wax and copper rollers. It’s similar to the batiks worn in Indonesia.
