Pineapple Costume

I needed a costume for a friends hen’s day – the theme ‘Tropical’. Being in a very creative mood I decided to go as a pineapple but didn’t actually think about what this would involve until two nights prior to the party. It was a very rushed job but surprisingly (considering my very limited sewing skills) I think it turned out well.

It doesn’t look like anyone else went in costume. Your costume is so awesome, maybe it made up for everyone else not wearing one. Why is everyone else always so wimpy?!

It was all maxi dresses and Hawaiian shirts but nothing too ‘costume-y’. Others backed me up by wearing grass skirts but I tend to be the out-there friend haha. It certainly did make up for everyone elses lack of adventure. I got caught with a bunch of Japanese tourists who all wanted photos with the “Pineapple girl”! :D

The middle section was stuffed with cushioning and while it was packed pretty tight there was enough movement for me to sit on it. The bottom section of material acted like a bit of a skirt which prevented me from flashing everyone everytime I sat!

Haha, so funny. One question though: could you actually sit down?

Yep, I could sit/dance/run etc – all movements necessary for a hens day. It was actually the most comfortable item of clothing I have ever worn!
