Last Halloween I made a life-size pin cushion costume. The construction came down to the last minute so I didn’t get any in-process photos and only some quick snaps of the costume itself.
It is basically a round, stuffed pillow with a round back held up by straps made of plain ribbon.
I used wooden plant stakes (the kind with wire curls at the end for securing in planting foam) painted silver with pom poms glued on the end as pins. I “screwed” the wires into the foam and secured it with hot glue.
The matching hat is just a mini version – a stuffed shape with green felt leaves, pins, and a little comb to stick in the wig.
Its one of my favorite costumes though I aim to out-do myself this year!
recycled red felty synthetic fabric, pom poms, wooden plant stakes, silver spray paint, vintage petticoat, recycled stuffing
