Pillowcase Thankful Apron

I made this apron with the pattern from fleece fun .com’s Thankful Apron’s pattern. In order to test it out I made the skirt portion from a thrifted pillow case. I am really liking the vintage vibe & this one will become a Birthday present for my cousin.

The only thing I should of done in hind sight is to also sew the waist ties into the bib section. As it is lined with the same material it would of made for a really neat unseen seam. Oh well I still like it & it is totally functional. I like the seamless continuation of the neck ties. As I was short on materials I only made it a single bow tie length. I will make one for my mom because this will also work in the garden.

So I think I will make some more from reused materials. I know spring is around the corner & my aprons supply is low, because I keep giving them away…

Material Notes

tiny tiny flower made on a flower loom, pillow case, some second hand red linen.
