I’ve been eyeing this oilcloth fabrics from Echino line by Etsuko Furuya, so I was happy to find the opportunity to use them for my husband’s bag.
The orange polkadot is also from Echino, but it’s thick cotton instead of oilcloth. Both fabrics have purple selvedge that I incorporated on the pockets and tabs for shoulder strap. The shoulder strap are ordinary black strap, I sewed a strip of the orange fabric on it. After the bag is done, I made this pencil pouch from the scraps.

I love the bag! Thought about sewing something out of oilcloth before, but was always afraid that it would ruin my machine.. Is it difficult to sew?

This bag is so cool! I love oilclothbags but sadly I didn’t find the perfect fabric yet… In the fabric stores next to my area they have boring ones and they are extremely expensive! Do you think I could use one of those oilclothlike tablecloths too?
