I liked my party dress so much that I decided to make it in another fabric. I got 7 yards of this blue gingham for only 7 dollars so I’ll be using it in many projects. Once again I used the how to on making the bust of the heat dress and I added frills made from gathered cotton along the top. It just started pouring outside, so I don’t think I’ll be wearing this dress very soon so I’m going to take my time finishing the hem. I’m thinking about adding gathered cotton to the hemline as well. This design is fun to make and fun to wear.
Blue gingham, white cotton, and a 9 inch zipper.

Totally love it! The frilly bit is so cute with gingham! I’m a sucker for dresses and so far, I like this one A LOT! Makes me want to make one! Well done!

This is so cute! The gingham works really well with the dress. I’d love to make something similar, but my daughter’s school uniform is blue gingham so it stops me from wearing it myself… tho seeing this has made me think I should go for it anyway!

I love it. Gingham always looks so fresh. I’ve got a small piece of gingham I’ve been meaning to do something with. Have to get my act together.

I like this so much. I have always wanted to go on a picnic but I didn’t have a basket or anything cute like this to wear. Now I have a basket and still no dress. :o( I want to find cute cheap fabric.

I love this dress… it’s SO charming… as you say it’ll make a fantastic picnic dress. Though I love your idea of adding white cotton frills to the bottom, I think it’ll tie it all together, especially if you wear the dress with white shoes or a white headband.
