I really liked Elizabeth & James’ “Picasso” shirt (see http://www.shopbop.com/picasso-shirt-elizabeth-james/vp/v=1/845524441840465.htm) but I’ve decided to sate my desire for neat new clothes by making neat new clothes instead.
So I traced a t-shirt I really like onto some cheap cotton/poly jersey (really cheap— I should use nicer stuff next time) and then divided the front side in three pieces, with a “scarf” added onto the edge of each third. And then sewed the seams up.
It’s not a dead ringer, by any stretch, but a fun and very fast project.
Cheap cotten poly jersey.
Uh, Elizabeth & James.

Really cool shirt, I love clothing with odd geometric shapes and layers. I too am trying to make neat new clothes instead of buying, so this is inspirational!

the “scarves” are sewn down the front. it’s hard to see in this photo… i’ve had a devil of a time getting photos up on this site. if you click on the original, you can see it better.
and thanks for the positive feedback! please do rip me off! i don’t count myself an especially adept sewer, and the whole thing took about 45 minutes to pull off.

This looks great. Are the ‘scarves’ only attached at the shoulder or sewn down the front? I like the colour as well.
