Fold the short edge inside and press. Fold the long edges inside so that the edges meet the center line of the strip, wrong sides facing. Then fold the strip in half. Press. Topstitch the edges narrowly and neaten the raw ends. (a)
Try the skirt on. The left and right front skirt panels are positioned so that the centers meet. Mark the spot, 1” (2 cm) next to the right skirt segment edge, where the strip needs to be applied using a needle. (b)
Position the strip onto the skirt edge so that it faces towards the back. Stitch the strip as marked onto the top skirt edge (bias strip) ©. Flip the strip to the front and topstitch narrowly (d). Apply the bottom part of a snap button onto the left front edge. Apply the top part of the snap button onto the inside of the bias strip.
