Description
This dress is Burda 7137 which I made from a single fabric but reversed the fabric on the collar and cuffs to have the shiny side showing. The dress fits well and I wanted to try It out as I promised my sister I would make one for her. She says Christmas will be fine for her to get the dress, but luckily she’s not said which Christmas. The collar was a little tricky and I appreciate there is more than one method to construct a collar. I used a method I was shown recently at a class, and that involves just cutting out the top layer, attaching a cut of of the finished shape and interfacing over….it worked ok.
Material Notes
The materials suitable for this dress are endless and really it has a lot of scope for development. I do hope my sister will be happy with her version…

It should be THIS xmas! I am sure she thought that was implicit!!! The color is gorgeous. I think you have a perfect Sunday morning church dress, nice dinner out dress (sister should take you out), and a good office dress.
That dress has some major wear in the future since it is suitable for “sew many” venues (excuse the pun).

A nice basic dress, I like the use of reverse side for embellishment and the colour is smart.
