Description

Peplum is the word!

I had to make this , and I probably felt like everybody else who saw the cover of Burda 08/2012.

I chose ice blue crepe, now I wish I had this deux piece in every single colour I know. Black, white, pale blue, red… It is a classic winner, it hides the imperfection whilst accentuating a nice waist.

As I could not find any model in good time, here I go again, trying my best.

Worn with Karen Millen shoes, Wallis business bag, gold pleated real leaf necklace and a golden belt from my personal collection.

Material Notes

2 metres crepe, lining

The hems just barely show. This is very good work. As I am struggling with georgette now, I’ve come to the conclusion that hems and maybe even seams should be sewn by hand with delicate fabrics. I think you have a better quality sewing machine than I do.

How beautiful! Crepe is so hard to work with. This gives me hope. I just wish I knew where to find spray stabilizer. Have a nice holiday.

Yes, it is hard, and it is the second time I am using this colour. Everything looks fine when you finish the garment, and I pressed for dear life on those hems, however, when I took the photos and looked at the detail, I was not too impressed. You can see the hems. I promise I used the thinnest needle ever! I have no choice but carry on pressing with the iron, maybe one day it will look neat!

I wish! The photos were taken one morning before I went to work. Not too happy!
