Description

This coat was made for a friend who is as petite as Christina Ricci and always has trouble finding clothes to fit.
I used a basic vintage McCall’s pattern as a block and worked the pattern details from there.
To be honest it was a nightmare and I’m glad it’s finished, but my friend loves it!

Material Notes

Pure wool gabardine, habotai silk lining, biais binding, assorted vintage buttons

Thank you all for your comments. I’ve never seen the film so I was working off a couple of photos I found on google… I’ve started making another one for a client in the USA… I hope this one will be easier…

Penelope is one of my top 10 favorite movies and I’ve been spending a lot of time studying and watching it over the past 2wks to get some of the coat details. This is SO wonderful! Sewing nightmares can be so much more rewarding, I’m so glad she fits it and likes it!
