It warms my heart to see someone learning to sew! Congratulations on the Zips! I have been sewing for 44 years and have been teaching sewing and fashion design/construction at a high school and college for the past 10 years. Some helpful advice: When you hem a skirt or dress, mark the hem, iron it, pin again if you need to adjust it then sew it. It will eliminate the puckering. And anytime you sew a seam, iron it. It give a nice smooth line and looks nice an professional! Keep on sewing it’s a great and satisfying hobby!

Thankyou for such helpful advice , I just noticed your comment . I don’t think I ever knew how to do the hem properly and I have noticed sitting on the bus sometimes how wonky looking the hem on this skirt looks . So now I know !
thanks again x
