Southend On Sea,...
Pattern Butterick B4443, dress C, size 22. Made from a 1950s/60s curtains, don’t know what the fabric is but it has a nice weight to it and it only cost me £2.50 from the charity shop. As the fabric was only 35inches wide and there wasn’t a lot of it, I had to have a centre seam on the skirt part. I put in an invisible zip and made a belt and bag to match Only thing left to do is hem it. An easy pattern to make and it came out ok.
I made a petticoat for underneath from 5 metres of organza Which I was given for free and 18 metres of ribbon. I used the technique from Sugardale.blogspot.com, best website I found for making your petticoat.
