The third version of this top pattern I have made up, because I love its shape so much… this version made using a heavy cream knit stuff. Drafted using the Japanese pattern book Pattern Magic, by Tomoko Nakamichi.

I LOVE THIS! The book are all available on amazon, and pattern magic 1 and 2 come in English, pattern magic 3, a knit version is still only in Japanese… I have pattern magic 1 in Japanese, this top is now on my list….

Cozy-couture! I love it so much after seeing your version and others, that I finally ordered the book. I also adore the skirt! I’ve Googled every way until Sunday to find the “Clothes any way you like” so that I might order the book……I’ve even tried with the ISBN but can’t seem to find a website to order it. Would you be able to provide me with a link to the site where you purchased it? Many thanks in advance for your consideration!

Thank you for your comment!
Mine was a gift from a friend so I can’t tell you from where it was purchased, but I had a look on yesasia and found the book here…

Hope you enjoy it!

oh, ya-ay. It’s up. Love it. I am guessing this Japanese twist top pattern came first, before the neon twister dress pattern here on BurdaStyle (makes me wonder if they are in any way inspired by one another or just spontaneous, coincidental eruptions form our shared human consciousness) … Have you seen the twister dress free download pattern? It takes like an hour to make – if you like this top you should give it a go! Another great co-ordinate for your enviable collection, Carolyn!

Thank you so much!
Hmmm, interesting! I hadn’t seen the neon twister dress, but I just searched for it and saw it was uploaded in Feb, 2011. Pattern Magic, by Tomoko Nakamichi was published in 2005.
