Based on the design on p49 of the Japanese pattern book Pattern Magic by Tomoko Nakamichi, made of teal silk jersey, and with added elbow length sleeves. I make a separate self-drafted petticoat… this is necessary because the dress not only has an extreeeemely low neckline but is completely open at the front. And spring here can be pretty breezy!
I left the front open like this because I like the idea of the contrasting yellow being a strong feature in the final look. The daffodil yellow is swimwear fabric, I chose it because the colour was just what I wanted. Being able to swim in it if I want wasn’t planned, but is a bonus. Bring on summer!
