Description

Just loving these African Waxprint fabrics! My new creation made from Butterick 5919 version B, without that ridiculous bow…
Def class this dress as intermediate, quite a bit of fiddling with gathers at front and back + bodice lining.
I seem to like these back opening dresses of late! Naught wrong with that!!!!

Looking at the clock on the wall it was 1.30 am when I got home, didn’t get a chance b4 going out to take a few pics, wasn’t looking too bad…..

Material Notes

1 1/2 mtrs fabric
interfacing
lining for bodice
35cm invisible zip

Difficulty

Intermediate

The belt detail for your dress gives it that extra edge. I must say I love the back. :)

This is gorgeous Ronnie. The fabric is fabulous and you have styled it perfectly with the shoes (which I love) . You must have some envious friends with all your fab creations x

Bang on Mary about envious friends, everyone is always asking for me to make for them. I could have an empire by now if had followed through! One day maybe?
      Cheers xx

You certainly could ronnie. The thing is people cannot get in the shops what we make. I started sewing for myself again when i could,‘nt find a dress? They where either mini’s cheaply made had awful fabric ir where to expensive. I enjoy this as a hobby and it gives me such pleasure to wear something i have made and the compliments certainly help. Last time i was in spain on holiday a lady approached me and said she never compliments anyone on their dress not even her friends but she just had to come over and tell me how lovely my dress was and how lovely i looked.. it made my night. She was in her 70’s and when i told her i made it she said i stood out from everyone else. I could’nt stop smiling all night ronnie x
