A few firsts….
I had been gathering material samples from a local depot early this year. It is a community initiative that gives people access to industrial excesses. There are many lovely fabric swatches. I had been wondering what to do with them. What could I make? A few months passed and then… a vest, a vest! Would be perfect size. I searched on the web for a vest a pattern… and I discovered BurdaStyle beta. And since you’re here already, I don’t need to tell you how awesome it is.
- first pattern I downloaded from Burda
- first garment since year 7 sewing
- first fabric swatch put to use
- first button holes
subtle navy, black, grey check – casual with dark denim or corporate with black suit
black satin (reversable) lining – casual over coloured tops, high lustre satin for a night out
second pic shows I added panels to the back
Wool Cotton blend
Cotton satin black

Great job! I am def trying this pattern with the same colors that you used. Btw, I think that you look like Nicole Kidman too! :)

Cute! This pattern is definitely on my to-do list. I like the vest over a sheer blouse look, too.
