Just in time for Sally to go to the beach :) This where I dream of being when I’m at work on nights. Relaxing on the beach not working and being with my hubby. So this is as close as I’m going to get for now.
I made this top really as a toile for better fabric. I wanted to give it a try in stiffer cotton for work. I’m a Nurse and I am so happy to have fun and freedom with my scrubs. I had this fabric for a while and needed to make something with it. I combined both Burda 08/2009 117 & 118. I was going to add the sleeve, but chose not to. I used 118 flounce and 117 for the rest. I added pockets on the front and inseam pockets on the side. I added a drawstring around the waist for shaping. I added pearl buttons to the front and on the sleeves.
I did make the purple scrub pants to match with lots of xtra pockets and stitching.
This pattern for the top was not really that hard at all. I can’t wait to give it a try with my better fabric so it drapes better. Wish I had better pics sorry.
Cotton, thread, bias tape, pearl buttons, interfacing
