Burda Style For people who sew
Description
In the burdastyle magazine 08/2010 we found this quite interesting pair of pants with a wrap effect (#137). Unfortunately it is only available for plus sizes from 44 up, but we needed a 42. We simply downsized the pattern, which turned out OK in the end.
The instructions asked for 2,5m of fabric, which we bought, but ended up, needing only about 1,7m. So we had quite some leftovers from the charcoal grey wool blend which ended up in a skirt
The draping in front turned out to be a bit tricky, as it didn’t fell at the waistline, like i wanted it, but a few corrections did the trick.

Nice pants. A similar pattern in non plus sizes is Kwik Sew 3808.

Thanks Time4me, you’re right there is a slight similarity between the patterns, but I find this pattern better suited for an office look.

Yesssss I was dissapointed too about the plus size pants, this pant is amazing, after shortening the pattern the outcome is perfect!! you look very elegant, the pant is really gorgeous!! congratulations, I really suck downsizing patterns!

Thank you Milkyway for your compliments. Actual the downsizing I used worked quite well. I took the distance from 44 line to the 46 line and put that in opposite direction to get an imaginary 42 line on the pattern. I would assume it might also work for the other smaller sizes.
By the way, it’s not me on the pictures, but my wife. ;-)
