My daughter loved these pants but quickly grew out of them, lengths wise. So I made them into a long skirt. I opened up the inside seams up to about 1/4" before the zipper. Also for the back seam up to the point where it would lay flat. Then I cut out a triangle piece of fabric of choice, and added some cotton lace trim. Did the same for the back. It all came together really quick and easy. It was a great way to recycle and get a second life out of a pair of pants. You can also do this with a pair of jeans and really embellish the fabric that will be added, which I’m currently working on. No worries, her shoes are brand-spankin’ new so it didn’t dirty my chairs :o)
Pair of pants, cotton fabric, cotton lace trim, an iron-on and thread.
Myself and daughter for growing out of her pants.
I’m currently working on a How-To for this.
