Description

This dress is based on a pattern from Burda Easy HW/2014. I like to try new styles and combinations of fabric. I omitted the open parts for the shoulders, but I also kept the two lower parts closed, and now I wonder if I should open them as well. It would be nice to hear some opinions :)
I was wearing the dress last evening together with my jacket which are made of the same courtelle jersey, and it’s very comfy to wear :)
Thanks to all good advice from sewing friends, I did open the last triangles, and I think I will be happy with it!! ;-)

Great dress! Fits you so nice. I like it much better with the bottom triangles open. If you thought about making another version, I wonder what it would be like if the fabric underneath the triangles were to match the outer fabric.

ohh yes, open is definitely better. (that’s of course not to say that the other way it didn’t look good) love the materials!! I have to try this pattern again, had a bit of a nightmare experience with it (the version without the cutouts) and it ended in the bin. but this and the other one in teal which was shown here not long ago look soooo fabulous I must try it!! xx

My vote is to open OR leave it. What if you use the print instead of the solid grey should you keep the lower triangles filled in? I like your adventures in sewing no matter what you choose. Always fun and always gives me good ideas to consider.

This dress is rock’n’roll! I think you should open the lower triangles. They are not gonna be too revealing, they just stop at the dangerous frontier :)

Ellen, this is a beautiful dress, like everyone else, I would like to see the bottom ones open as well, but if you are concerned about it to be revealing or showing your bra then I would use a nude jersey, like the swimwear lining, that way it will seem like it’s open without showing anything.
