i have had the pleasure of doing my first ever dress and made it a birthday gift for a very dear and lovely friend! as i wanted to make sort of a wrap dress, i used the pattern of simplicity number 7006 R5 with a vew modifications and i am really pleased with the result…….. my friend was very happy too!
the material is a very soft slightly strechy wool jersey in black and white (almoust tweed like!) and it gives the dress just the right swing!
wool jersey in black and white (tweedlook), interfacing, thread
for her patience while i did the fittings and for beeing such a fantastic friend

Nice work, lovely fit. I find many wrap dresses and tops are too open in the front – this one is perfect.

I have to agree. Model, dress and fabric simply look fantastic. With this simple design all the small details, like the pleats and the cuffs, just weigh more and you’ve done them great. A very good example of ‘less is more’.

This is amazing! Your friend looks like she is shining! She looks so happy, and I bet that your dress is a good reason for it! The fabric is very elegant and looks like it is a great quality. The neckline is very very nice and I love those pleats on the shoulders. Those details show that you cared a lot. Great first dress!

thank you laurwyn for your kind words! pam indeed has been very happy and i am so glad and proud, that you liked the necklin and shoulder and pleat-bits, as this has been the most complex thing on the dress. now it looks really easy (and it should do!!) but it was killing me at first :-)
