This is one of the looks I used in my student collection, “A Modern Medieval Fairytale.” My inspiration for the collection was posed by the question, “What would medieval fairies wear today?” The theme for the show this year was “Time” and designers were asked to re-interpret time periods.
This coat was created from a neat brocade fabric that I found at a random fabric store. It features a stovepipe inset collar, a ruffle that goes from one shoulder to the other, studs, and a gathered “skirt” one each hip only. The coat is fully lined and has horsehair braid in the hem to keep it from collapsing in.
