Description

My grandma passed away last November, and I recently inherited her sewing machine (a Kenmore Elite 385 that she got in the early ‘90s). I’ve been working with my grandpa to do a number of things to honor her memory, including putting together a cookbook of all her recipes. When my grandpa offered to give me her sewing machine, I was happy to take it. Using it makes me feel a little closer to her. And I’m excited to learn how to sew for the first time, since my high school didn’t offer a home ec class.

Anyway, here is my first finished project with my grandma’s sewing machine! Rod pocket curtains for my kitchen – a super simple project to help me get the hang of things. Next up is a skirt!
