This is my Painter Top. The fabric is a cross between kimono and impressionist painting – intricate, delicate and perfect for the summer pieces I’ve wanted to make. I kept the shape simple so it could easily be layered under cardigans and jackets or worn alone. It’s hard to tell, but the selvedge was ruffled slightly and used as the bottom hem. What I love most about this top is how versatile it is. It can be worn to work with slacks and a jacket or just as easily be paired with shorts and sandals.
I have one more project coming up with this fabric! I want bolts and bolts of it….sigh!
I wrote more about this project at my blog… please feel free to stop by! smalldose.net
