Burda Style For people who sew
Description
This jacket was inspired by the kid’s book I Ain’t Gonna Paint No More by Karen Beaumont, illustrated by David Catrow. I was playing along with the Once Upon A Thread challenge over at No Big Dill. The pattern is Butterick 5647. I cut out my pattern pieces first (white cotton bull denim) and then painted them using Jacquard Dye-na-flow paints. They are very thin, like dye, so they soak in to fabric and remain soft. I cut a stamp from linoleum for the black splatters and ants. I put in piping around the faux pocket flaps and lapels. I’m very tickled with how it turned out! It’s not exactly something I plan on wearing just out and about, but there has to be some time and place I can wear it without looking totally crazy. It was a really fun experiment. I got to attempt several different techniques I’d been itching to try.

It’s awesome! I would totlaly wear it out and about and everywhere, id does nto look crazy, it looks super-designer, and will make all others turn heads in envy! me included!
