Paint Me a Minoru
Added Mar 17, 2012
I made this Minoru during the Sewaholic.net Minoru Sew-Along. I added side-seam pockets (for a tutorial, see here) and made a few other minor tweaks here and there. My favorite part: the fabric. I got it from FineFabrics.com during their winter sale. It’s a wonderful weight for a project like this one, and I recommend snatching it up if you’re interested. You can find it here. I lined the jacket, even the hood, with a gold Bemberg rayon. And, I did my best to get a matching zipper (with gold teeth!) from ZipperStop.com.
All in all, I couldn’t be happier with this jacket. It’s perfect for cutting the chill on a typical San Francisco evening or for keeping me cozy during my daily bike commute. It’s fun yet practical. A perfect combination if you ask me. Thanks, Tasia, for leading such a fun Sew-Along!

Cotton with a bit of lycra fashion fabric, Bemberg rayon lining, an insanely long separating zipper, interfacing, and two buttons to keep the secret internal pockets closed.
