This dress was inspired by the fabric, which I found at FineFabrics.com. I loved the colors, the painted pattern, and the fact that it was called “Paint Me a Maxi Dress.” It already knew what it wanted to be, and I was happy to listen. I found a pattern in my stash that I thought would lengthen well into a maxi, Vogue V8182, and launched into its construction. I had a bit of trouble with the ruched waistband and invisible zipper, but my persistence won out in the end. I couldn’t be happier with the end result!
