I bought some matte silver sequined fabric at the last Clegs remnant sale and, for 8 dollars or so, made a skirt with an ribbed elastic cotton waistband. I envision wearing it with black tights, heels and under a black coat. A bit of schwing for winter nights out in the city!
Makers note: I broke two needles on my overlocker trying to hem the sides and finish the top edge before sewing the elastic on. If anyone knows how to sew sequinned fabric without needle breakage please let me know!
I ended up sewing it very slowly on my conventional machine with no problems except I had to go sloooowwww to make sure i could shift sequins out of the way if my machine made the “i’m struggling!” noise.

I love this skirt! I’ve always liked the look of pairing a sequin skirt with a casual look. Even with a plain T-shirt. Good to know to go slow. I may find some sequin material myself one day.

Ooh, this is stunning! Love it! Re the maker’s note; when I’ve sewed sequinned fabric I’ve done it by hand. Time consuming but worth it! But I like the “go slow” idea too!
