Paddington is a well-loved fictional teddy bear. This Simplicity pattern is from 1977. I used leftover cashmere from a coat project (sourced second hand for $6.99 for 4+ yards) to make the smaller sized bear. The coats and hats are made from felt. I didn’t use buttons on the coats or for the eyes, as pattern suggests, as these are gifts for a friend at her baby shower. One for Oliver (aged 2) and one for Angus (due next week!).
Update: the little ones at the baby shower gravitated towards the bears immediately! Oliver loved the blue bear and it fit perfectly under his arms. All of the children removed the hats at once – what is it with kids and hats? Oh, and Mom was thrilled.

Oh my gosh, PADDINGTON! My grandma used to read me the stories all the time growing up. They look so cute, well done. Is there a marmalade sandwich to go with it?
