This is an old fake leather thrift store purse that I redid. My sewing machine did not like sewing the top edge.

ohhh, i really like the owl purses :-) i love that color of leather and always wish i could buy some leather to sew with but it’s too expensive.. this is a great alternative!

I go to the thrift store and buy up all their $.99 purses and cannibalize them for d-rings, zippers, leather, toggle clasps, feet, etc……Why pay $8-10 for a set of bamboo handles at a craft store when I can get the whole purse for $1-3? Also, I went to an auto upholstery shop and asked for all the scraps of vinyl that they would normally throw away—it was a gold mine!!! Good luck and happy sewing!

haha, I can understand your sewing machine why she/or he;) didn’t like the top edge- hard work :) but like all the others, your owl purse looks great! btw, I recently stumbled over an old red-carpet picture of björk where she’s got an owl purse made of swarovski, I think…;)
