I made the dress by cutting the sleeves off a men’s XL t-shirt and sewing the waist smaller. Then I added hundreds (felt like hundreds, I’m not really sure) feathers. I did not hem the feather shaped fabric. I just sewed them in lines around the shirt until everything was covered.
The mask was made using a template from Martha Stewart. http://www.marthastewart.com/908065/owl-mask
I just used felt and fabric (no tissue) and hot glued onto a paper mch mask from Michael’s.
Cotton fabric for feathers
XL men’s t-shirt
Paper mch mask

What a hoot! (Sorry, I just can’t resist a pun. Or owls; great costume idea!)

This is so cute! Purim is coming up and I might make an owl costume as well :)

I forgot to mention I added double fold bias tape around the neck and arms to hide raw edges.
