Description

This project was my 1st attempt at making something in my life. I never used the sewing machine before really and just decided one day I must master it so I decided on a swim suit as I thought it was simple enough.
Used a striped shirt that was too small for me and an old black t-shirt to make the swim suit. Realised later bottom won’t have stretch as it was t-shirt material with little stretch, so I improvised and used some rings from an old bag to attach to bottom and braided some cloth to make some strings to tie to the rings.

Swim suit held up great in water. Folks wanted know where i bought it :)

    Thanks everyone my mom thought I was crazy for making something for the 1st time and it being swim suit that I was planning to wear the next week. It drove me crazy making it as I had to now discover right tension and stitch length and how to stitch straight which I still can’t do that well lol.

    That was very, very brave! I still haven’t attempted a swim suit and I’ve been sewing for ummmm 15 years now? lol. One day I’ll get up the nerve. I keep seeing all these cute 50’s inspired suits and I want one!

    So cool being the first thing ever! Haha, I wouldn’t DARE to make a swim suit, even if it was my 1238971928347th time making something, because I would FREAK if it fell apart whilst swimming :D
