This origami coat is a Lalimaya (small French company) pattern. It is available in a child or adult version.
It’s a lined coat with: stand up collar, inseam pockets and of course the pleats without which it could not be called the Origami Coat. Fan pleats are on the right front and sleeve heads. Regular pleats give texture to the belt band at the back.
The grey and red fabrics I picked for the shell which is a synthetic like wool “caban” gave my steaming iron quite a work out to create the pleats.

Thanks a lot for your comments ! :)
I forgot to mention that If anyone is interested in the pattern, the instructions that come with it are only available in French, but I translated them to English for someone already and Lalimaya (the pattern company) has allowed me to forward the English version of the instructions. So if you bought the pattern and want the English instructions just contact me here (I’m a newbie on Burdastyle, not really sure how everything works yet !) or send me an email : vero @ couturestuff.fr (no spaces).

Oh wow, the pleating on this is gorgeous. And I like the red and grey together (they make this coat even more lovely than the one modeled in the pattern image)
