Well it was only a matter of time before I posted a costume on here! I’m afraid you will get a few of them throughout the year! This one was a bit of an experiment, it involved a purchased bra, a remnant of glitter stretch velvet, some cut up sequin trim (which was the creator of this design so to speak) and a bucket load of sew on Swarovski rivoli’s (79 I think). Oh and a yard of black stretch velvet I had lurking in my stash. My dummy (dress form) has no bum or hips (like most models!) so it’s not doing a very good job of modelling this costume, but you get the general idea.
No pattern was used, all just draping on the dummy and swearing and pinning and more swearing… you get the point. I’m pretty happy with the result even though it’s way to small for me in the bra so I will never be able to wear it. So it’s up for sale on a forum and I am hoping with the proceeds to buy materials (read crystals) for a costume in my watermelon size. On second thought, I’ll probably have to mortgage my soul too….
Glitter stretch velvet, plain stretch velvet, sequin trim, Swarovski’s, purchased bra, blood, sweat and tears.
