I must have an deep-rooted desire to incorporate curtains into everything I make, for the see-through stripes on this dress are made from the very same fabric that my bedroom curtains (ex-curtains, that is). It was quite the hassle to neaten seams and keep things aligned when dealing with see-through material, I can tell you that.
The pattern for the upper part is some old block that I’ve used for dozens of dresses. And the skirt part is, well…simply gathered.
The fabric is something of a very slightly stretch synthetic cotton blend. Got it for next to nothing from a re-use shop. Their fabrics always have the loveliest patterns.
