Description

I still have a lot of holiday-projects I wanna share. I’m not a super-woman (even if I like to think so), therefore I have to say that some of the projects are made a while ago, but I hope you like it anyway ;)

This dress is based on pattern #135 from Burda 05/2003, and this is one of my favorites. I have used a combination of “Lille Martine” checkered fabric and lightweight cotton. To make the dress more fun I made on a flounce at the back part and also a little band for decoration at the waist ;)

your dress is very nice, I have this old Burda because I don’t like to throw away my old magazines. I love sewing as well and I always find the time for it. Now I need to spend time making photos in order to publish

I love how the different fabrics come together to make such a cohesive whole. You have such a good eye for fabrics! The back pleat is such a neat idea, and looks so cute!

Thanks heaps. I look at your clothes and thing your style is very similar to mine. I am at uni, have two businesses and two kids so this year I’ve had no time to sew. 3 more weeks left of uni then on a huge sewing spree.

I’m impressed how you can manage everything – so you have to be proud of your self :)
It’s always nice to have something to look forward too ;) My boys(4) are older than yours so it’s eayer when they are growing up, and then you can have more time on your own…hopefully :)

This dress is so pretty and when I see you sew such lovely things from Burda, pre 2007, I so wish I hadn’t given away all my Burda magazines from 1980 to 2006. I love the frill detail at the back of your dress.

That’s pity to hear.. I like very much looking in old magazines, and as you know, the style comes back, maybe in a little new version. My sister bought me a Burda from 1970s and it fun to have a look in it :)
Thank you very much for kind comments :)

I’m so glad to read that you made this fabric mixing due to your limited quantity. I just love these great creative projects!

Thanks Liliv! It could also be the opposite way that I buy to much fabric, then I’m using rest of the fabric for sewing children clothes :-)

Thank you Oksana – it’s very nice to hear :) The playing with fabric is mostly the consequence of not having enought fabric for a whole dress, but of couse also because I want the garment to be a lillte special :)

Or it’s a well-known situation – being short of fabric makes us very creative and sometimes even more than we expect we are:-)

That’s true, but could also be fun like you say :-) I do have a lot of small quantity of different fabric so maybe some day I will make something special…

This is a very beautiful dress – the pattern is just so nice and I wish I’d have this 2003 magazine in my shelf… I also like the fabric you choose and as everything you sew, it fits to perfection!
