Pattern #128 from BWOF 08/2009.
I made this dress (to wear on a wedding I went last month) in just over 4 days, including acessories. I think it turned out very well despite the short time and the fact that I was trying some techniques for the first time like use underlining on the upper part and setting in this type of sleeves.
The belt was made with the underline of the tissue (brown) glued with textile glue to grosgain ribbon.
I also made the flower for the hat, in the same fabric of the dress. The technique is pretty simple and the result is amazing: you just have to cut fabric circles in different sizes and then very slightly melt the edges with a lighter or a candle, then attach them together!

Hi celinaj – I finally finished my dress (about mid-december) and wore it for the first time to a christmas party on the 11th or so. While making it, I got so frustrated that I sometimes thought about giving up ;o(. If you’d like to see my result (click here). As you see, I had a lot of problems with it but I am really happy now with the final product. The more I was working on it, the more I got impressed about your speed in this project. Congratulation again!

Congratulation, this dress looks really nice! Right now I am sewing a dress, according to the same pattern but I am not quite as fast as you’ve been. Great job, you must have looked wonderful, gorgeous, etc. at that wedding.

Hi Petra. Thanks. I was fast because I really had to! ;) It was a last hour decision (long story…) Although the pattern was quite approachable I don’t think I’ll manage to be so fast on a next time again. But I’m thinking made another dress in a different fabric using this same pattern too.

Wow! Wonderful! I’m planning on making the same piece this weekend, but with a less elegant fabric. (kind of like a try-out, a muslin) I love the color, you made a beautiful dress!

Well, go ahead! This pattern is very versatile. When I saw it the first time I thought in use a more textured fabric like flannel or a tweed similar to the magazine but I used satin for this because it was for a wedding and it turned out really great! But I’m still thinking in made another one in plaid or flannel, I really loved the pattern. Good work on this weekend!
